HardMatte is more than a database. It's a suite of tools for dissecting the visual language of cinema. Here is how to get the most out of your experience.
See a film you want to analyze later? Click the + icon on any poster to add it to your Watchlist. It will be waiting in your Profile.
After watching, rate the film on a 5-star scale and log your thoughts. Your reviews contribute to the community score and appear on the film's analysis page.
Pin your top 4 films to your Profile. This defines your taste and helps our recommendation engine suggest visually similar masterpieces.
Every film in our archive is processed by our computer vision pipeline. Here is how to interpret the results.
We compress the entire film into a single timeline. Each vertical stripe represents the dominant color of a scene. Use this to spot color changes (e.g., warm for safe, cool for danger).
The "Visual Rhythm" chart tracks the Average Shot Length (ASL) over time. Spikes indicate slow, lingering scenes. Dips indicate rapid-fire action editing.
Settle debates or find patterns. The Compare Tool allows you to select any two generated films and view their metrics side-by-side.
